Blenheim is the gateway to all Marlborough has to offer, whether you are keen on outdoor sports or are a wine and food junkie.
The fifty-plus vineyards are open for tastings, with several excellent vineyard cafes for lazy lunches. Tours can be arranged too if you’d rather not drive.
Blenheim’s galleries (the public Millennium Gallery on Seymour Square and the local High St Gallery) are well worth a look, as are those in the nearby seaside town of Picton, which also makes for a great day out with its many craft shops and cafes, the Edwin Fox and Marlborough Aquarium. Visitors can pick up a guide to artists and potters in the region, many of whom have studios open to the public.

Blenheim is fast becoming hooked on cafe culture, and there is no shortage of busy cafes to indulge your caffeine fix (and many of these feature works by local artists). As a gourmet province and home to wonderful wine, olive oil, cheeses, seafood and produce, Blenheim’s restaurants offer dining experiences for all budgets.
If all the wine and food leaves you hungry for some exercise, you won’t be disappointed. From a short stroll up the Wither Hills to a multi-day walk along the famous Queen Charlotte track in the beautiful Marlborough Sounds, Marlborough is paradise for walkers, boaties, mountain bikers and kayakers.

The Omaka Aerodrome is just around the corner, and the place to be for all aviation enthusiasts, who can check out the aviation museum’s vintage planes.

Our property neighbours the brand new world-class Omaka Aviation Heritage Centre, housing several of Peter Jackson’s planes, which opened December 2006. A must see for aviation enthusiasts.

For golfers, the excellent Fairhall course is approximately 3km up the road, and there are several other courses in the region. Golf clubs are available here at Montgomery’s.
Rose and Matthew will try to help you organise any activities you’d like to do.
